Hydrophobic fumed silica produced by the chemical reaction of hydrophilic silica with reactive silanes or silicone fluids, like chlorosilanes, hexamethyldisilazane and polydimethysiloxane. The treated fumed silica powder has water-repellent properties and is no longer dispersible in water.
